Baked Cinnamon Apples Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 large apples
  • ½ Tbsp lemon juice
  • ⅔ cup water
  • ½ Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp butter (melted)
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Lightly butter, grease or spray an 8x8 baking dish with butter or non-stick cooking spray.
  • While the oven preheats, peel and slice apples and coat with lemon juice to prevent browning. Layer the apples into prepared baking dish.
  • Mix water, flour and cornstarch until smooth, then add the light brown sugar, cinnamon, melted butter and salt. Stir until well-combined, and pour the mixture over the apples.
  • Bake apples for 20 minutes, remove to stir.  Return to oven, removing every 10-15 minutes to stir, until the apples are tender (about 45 minutes total).
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.
