Farm Animal Care Team | Petaluma, CA
Calling local farm animal enthusiasts! Looking to spend your summer surrounded by adorable critters and fresh country air? Rusty Hinges Ranch wants you on our farm team! We're seeking upbeat individuals who can handle the daily "moo-tine" of caring for our diverse animal crew. From pigs and donkeys to chickens and cats, you'll be responsible for feeding, watering, monitoring, and ensuring our furry and feathered friends are living their best farm life.
Responsibilities:
- Dive into daily tasks like feeding, watering, and keeping a watchful eye on our happy-go-lucky animals.
- Help move critters between pastures and make sure they have access to shade and water at all time.
- Keep things tidy in the animal areas and manage recycling & garbage pickups.
- Follow our paw-some protocols to ensure our animals stay healthy and happy.
Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent (diploma in hand, please!).
- Hold a valid driver's license and have your own trusty wheels.
- Flexibility to work morning, noon, and night shifts—including weekends.
- Reliability is key! We count on you to be punctual and ready to roll for your shifts.
- Strong work ethic with a passion for sustainable farming and critter care.
- Diligent communication skills - ability to send articulate daily updates on animal welfare
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous large animal farm experience, 4H or FFA, and a deep love for animals.
- Eagerness to learn and dive into the world of farm life.
Schedule: You'll have up to 15-20 hours per week. Multiple shift slots available 7 days a week, covering morning, noon, and night. It's perfect for those taking summer classes our working around multiple activities. Each shift takes a minimum of 1 hr, and multiple hours are available for the right skill set.
